When Womxn Gather is an artistic documentary series by Aamowi exploring how women, trans and non-binary folx shape and sustain nightlife, music, and contemporary culture in their cities. The series investigates the nuances of how these alternative subcultures, manifest on and off the African continent, shaped by colonial legacies and present-day socio-political realities.
The first of this series explores Lagos, Nigeria (2026). This film is supported by Obodo Nigeria.
